This nifty wireless barbecue thermometer uses a 6in. probe to identify the temperature of the meat you are preparing.     Have you checked Cappec's one? http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00PQ51N28 works like a charm, been using it for about 3 months. Oregon's always seemed a little bulky to me..
